Know the difference
“When you surrender a feral community cat to a shelter, the cat has no place to return to and cannot be handled or adopted — that’s a death sentence to a feral cat. Know the difference. Feral community cats belong where you trapped them. Be part of the solution instead of part of the problem.”
That’s the whole reason AFCC exists: to combat community cat overpopulation through targeted spay and neuter, and to make sure the cats already living outside get the care they deserve — right where their caregivers are.

Humane trapping — including drop-trapping whole families — then spay or neuter, vaccination and ear-tipping. Cats go back to the community where they’re already fed and watched over by dedicated caregivers.

Pregnant and nursing mamas and critical bottle-baby kittens come into foster care. Mama is spayed once her babies are weaned, then returns home; the kittens grow up socialised and adoptable.

Sick and injured community cats get real veterinary care — diagnostics, surgery, and quarantine for panleukopenia cases — funded entirely by supporters, not grants or government money.

We don’t hold adoption events. Every application is reviewed in full and every placement includes a home visit, so the fit is right for the cat and the family. Meet-and-greets are for approved applicants.

Foster homes are the bottleneck on how many cats we can say yes to. Kittens, mamas and medical recoveries all need somewhere safe to land — we cover the supplies and the vetting.

Adoption
No cat is listed until the vetting is finished. When you’re approved, the cat you meet is already ready to come home — nothing left for you to chase down.
Applications are reviewed in full and include a home visit. Meet-and-greets are scheduled with approved applicants only.

There is no grant money and no paid staff behind this. Vet bills, formula, traps and litter are all funded by supporters — and every gift is tax-deductible.
